Dafür gibt es in Debian das kleine Hilfswerkzeug ''update-pciids'' was ''lspci'' mit frischen Informationen versorgt. Um sich das Leben bzgl. DHCP etwas einfacher zu machen, installieren wir zwei Tools:

Den "Vendor Class Identifier" (Option 60) braucht man häufig um die Geräteklasse/-typ eines anfragenden Geräts zu identifizieren. Ein OmniSwitch 6450-P10 fragt wie folgt an:
